It’s been a long three months since we’ve had campers here at Shiloh. All of the groups originally booked in the spring (March, April, May) and many of the groups that were booked for the summer (June, July, August) have postponed/rescheduled until the fall of 2020 or spring of 2021.
We are hopeful that as restrictions are lifted and businesses begin to open back up, we will be able to start hosting groups again soon. We have been monitoring the state’s policies & procedures regarding closings/ re-openings & social distancing precautions, and doing our best to apply them where necessary.
Though we never officially 'closed' our doors, many group leaders and parents understandably were not comfortable with sending kids to camp during this difficult and un-precedented season.
Our staff has been researching, thinking, praying, brainstorming, about what things we can do to ensure the safety of our guests upon returning to camp. Some examples of these changes include…

- Health screening prior to (health form) & upon arrival (temperature scan) at camp
- Staff & guests wearing masks/facial coverings, especially when indoors
- Increasing housekeeping/sanitation measures
- Increased number of hand sanitizing stations in all buildings
- Posting literature/signage on hand washing procedures
- Installing automatic light switches to minimize touching surfaces
- Adding the use of individually wrapped & disposable foodservice items
- Removing self-serve buffets
- Less chairs/more space between chairs in meeting areas
- Less tables/chairs & more space between tables/chairs in dining area
- Lowering dorm room capacity in order to better practice social distancing
- Adding an infirmary/quarantine room
